Application Process
Once you have completed your research and have selected a program you will need to begin the application process. The application process may vary for each of the Education Abroad programs; therefore, it is important to take the time to understand the process of the program to which you are applying before beginning your application. In addition to process, there are other requirements to consider prior to applying including eligibility requirements, application deadlines, and additional submission materials which can be found in the program brochures. Undergraduate Semester or Academic Year Education Abroad Application Process
Applying to spend a semester or academic year abroad is a two-step process. Students will first apply to Babson for approval to spend a semester or academic year abroad. Once a student has received approval from Babson to study abroad, the student will then apply to the host program or institution. Undergraduate Babson Electives Abroad (formerly known as Offshore Courses) Application Process
The application process for all undergraduate Babson Electives Abroad (formerly known as Offshore Courses) are done on a rolling basis beginning in September for winter break courses, followed in October for March break courses, and ending in early February for summer session courses. To apply students are required to complete the online application, including essays questions, and to confirm they have met the prerequisites for the course. The selection process is completed and students are notified of acceptance within two weeks of the application deadline. Application deadlines for specific Electives Abroad can be found on the course brochure page.
For a list of Electives Abroad and the corresponding brochure pages:
- Click Program Search Tool.
- Next select the "Advance Search" tab at the top of the page.
- In the search criteria scroll down to the Parameters Section and select "undergraduate" under Class Status and "Electives Abroad" under Program Type – this search will result in the list of undergraduate electives abroad for 2011-12.
- You can then click each of the courses to see more course details.
PLEASE NOTE: It is the responsibility of an international student (F1 or J1 visa holders) to meet with an International Student Advisor prior to applying to an Elective Abroad to insure they are in compliance with the US visa regulations.
Joint Management Consulting Field Experience
An announcement of available projects and the information session date and time will be emailed and/or posted on Life at Babson in April for the fall semester and in October for the spring semester.* Immediately following the information session the application and interview process will. Following the completion of interviews, placements will be announced via email. Students are required to confirm their placement within 24 hours.
*Availability of projects is dependent on the corporate sponsors.
