Graduate Waitlist Application and Selection Notification Process

Waitlist Application Process 

The waitlist application process is available to those students who would like to apply for an elective abroad after the general application process has been closed. The waitlist applications will open for a one week period beginning on the Monday, 10/1/2012, 9:00am EST and will close on Monday, 10/8/2012 at the close of business. Placements will be made on electives abroad with spaces available after the general lottery on Friday, 10/12/2012.  All students who are not placed through the initial waitlist process will be will be added to a course waitlist in the order applications are received.

The rolling waitlist will re-open on Monday, 10/15/2012 and will remain open until the final date when students can be placed from the waitlist.  These dates are as follows:

Winter Session - Friday, 10/12/2012
March Break Session - Friday, 11/20/2012
Summer Sessions - Friday, 2/1/2013

Please be sure to check the eligibility guidelines as well as any academic pre-requisites before making your selections. 

Students can apply to an elective abroad waitlist via the “APPLY NOW” button found on the specific elective abroad brochure page.   If students are interested in being added to more than one waitlist, they must complete and submit an individual application for each course.

To view the elective abroad brochure pages, students can use the online advance search tool found at FIND A PROGRAM  using Programs=Electives Abroad and Class Status=Graduate under the Parameters section. 

Waitlist Placement Notification Process 

Once you submitted an elective abroad waitlist application, it is your responsibility to monitor your Babson email account, as placements from the waitlist will be emailed on a rolling basis as/if/when slots become available. 

If you receive a placement email, a reply email accepting the placement is required within 48 hours* and all acceptance materials must be completed and returned to the Glavin Office of Multicultural and International Edcuation within 5 business days. If no email reply is received and/or the paperwork is not returned by the deadline, your name will be removed from the course, and a placement offer will be made to the next person on the list.

The Acceptance Process includes completing and submitting ALL of the following:

Questionnaires (completed online):

·         Health Information Form

·         Medical Insurance Form

·         Passport Information Form

·         Emergency Contact Form

Material Submissions (printed, completed and returned to OIP):

·         Graduate Release & Waiver

·         Graduate Program Fee Payment Agreement

·         Photographic & Artwork Consent Form

·         Non-refundable Deposit of $500

·         Copy of Passport Submission

·         Copy of Resume Submission

Signature Documents (completed online with electronic signature):

·         Acknowledgement of Pre-departure Requirement

·         Acknowledgement of Student Conduct Policy

Please note once you have accepted placement in a course your name will be removed from all other waitlists.
