Established in 1958, ESADE (Escuela Superior de Administración y Dirección de Empresas) is a worldclass business school, which is consistently at the top of international rankings and is recognized for its teaching program, its research and its relations with alumni, companies and academic partners.

ESADE Exchange Program Highlights

Academic Calendar

  • Fall: Early September* - late December
  • Spring: Mid-January* - late May
  • Orientation: Students participate in a mandatory, non-credit orientation before the beginning of the semester, which includes a brief introduction to Spain and the Catalonia region.

*Please note that some courses may start up to 2 weeks before the official term start date. Students are responsible for checking the start date of the courses they have registered for and arriving prior to the start of classes.

Studying at ESADE

  • ESADE required course load is 27-30 ECTS per semester, which is approximately 15 Babson credits.
  • ESADE study can choose from a wide range of business courses in the areas of Company Politics, Economics, Finance, Human Resources, Information Systems, Marketing, Operations and Social Sciences. A limited number of courses focusing on Spanish History and Culture are also offered each semester. Courses are taught in English or in Spanish.
  • Please note that ESADE does not offer any for-credit semester long Spanish language courses.
  • Exams are mostly written, but are sometimes conducted orally, or even take home
    assignments. Projects may also be required.

Life at ESADE

  • The ESADE Barcelona-Sant Cugat campus is located in Sant Cugat del Valles, which is approximately 15 km (9 miles) north of Barcelona, and is easily accessible by train from the city.
  • Most students who study at ESADE secure their own housing in the Greater Barcelona area. However, please note that  ESADE does not provide nor endorse any housing facilities for students in Barcelona.
  • ESADE does have one student residence in Sant Cugat, the Roberto de Nobili Residence Hall. Please note that placement in the residence hall is not guaranteed; students are responsible for securing their own accommodations.
  • Exchange students are encouraged to participated in ESADE's many associations, groups and clubs to provide social, leisure, athletic and cultural activities for student enjoyment.
