  • New from Spring 2019 - UNSW now offers a trimester calendar with tailored terms for study abroad students allowing students to study abroad in Australia from early-January to mid-May or mid-August to mid-December. Babson students are required to attend the tailored term and regular term in order to obtain a full course load.

  • A large and modern campus that caters to more than 30,000 students
  • UNSW is located in the suburbs of Sydney, within a couple of miles of ocean side communities like Coogee Beach. It provides students with a wonderful mix of urban life and the outdoor environment for which Australia is so well known. 

Academic Calendar

Studying at University of New South Wales

  • UNSW offers intellectually challenging and engaging courses in commerce and economics as well as the liberUNSW at Nightal arts.
  • Substantial number of courses that focus on Australia.
  • Students can choose from courses across the university's faculties, including but not limited to: Arts & Social Science; Australian School of Business; College of Fine Arts.
  • The UNSW course handbook is available online. The handbook is searchable by course name, code and description. In some cases a more detailed course description, outlines, timetables and additional information may be found at individual faculty or school web sites.
  • Exchange students enroll in 24 units of credit per semester. Most courses are worth six credit units thus students should expect to take four courses.
  • UNSW tries to enroll you in your preferred courses before you arrive, but enrollment is subject to course availability and faculty approval. You can change your courses up through the end of the first week of the semester.

Life at University of New South Wales

  • In Australia most students attend a university in their own city. Local students attending UNSW either live at home or stay in private shared accommodation near the university. This accommodation is often shared with other students and varies considerably in style, standard and cost. See Accommodation for more details.

  • Sydney is a dynamic, energetic and multicultural city with plenty of activities on offer to suit almost everyone.
  • Sydney has a vibrant arts, cultural and restaurant scene where you can indulge in the many different flavors of Australia and the world.
  • Paddington is home to the College of Fine Arts and is only 10 minutes from the main campus. It is well known for its fashion boutiques and is regarded as the place to see the latest trends in fashion and design.
  • There are express buses from UNSW to the city and Central Railway Station. Close to Central Railway Station is Sydney’s China Town with an exciting mix of affordable restaurants and shops from all over Asia. Just a short walk away is Darling Harbour where you can find museums, Sydney Aquarium and plenty of specialty shops.
  • There is always plenty to do in Sydney, lots of friendly people and the great weather makes it the perfect destination to spend 6 -12 months on exchange.
