Studying at The University of EdinburghEdinburgh Quad

  • Teaching methods will be a combination of lectures and tutorials. For most courses, lectures form the main teaching framework. Lectures provide a guide to the subject matter and set out the foundations on which you are expected to build. Tutorials consist of a small group of students and provide opportunities to develop themes and discuss problems, usually through written work.
  • You may find that you have fewer hours of direct teaching. In such cases, you will be expected to study in the library, work through the course reading list and demonstrate your learning in essays and exams. It is important to be self-disciplined and study independently.
  • Babson students will take the majority of your classes in the Business School. Most courses are 20 credits (5 Babson credits) and the academic load for a single semester is 60 credits (3 courses). Two of your courses need to be in business. Please consult the website for course listings.
