Babson College continues to put your health and safety as a top priority while its students travel internationally.  The college recognizes that in this rapidly changing world travelers prefer to be prepared with regard to health and security.  It may be challenging for you to contact a Babson staff member while traveling should something unexpected occur.  It is for these reasons that Babson College has contracted for travel assistance and evacuation services from a company called International SOS.

International SOS Assistance gives peace of mind to travelers and expatriates all over the world. The International SOS network of services for immediate help in any emergency is offered to you via Babson College. Services range from telephone advice and referrals to full-scale evacuation by private air ambulance. The SOS network of multilingual critical care and aero-medical specialists operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year from SOS Alarm Centers around the world. Your SOS membership, provided by the college, is additional protection against unexpected difficulties that can arise when you are away from home.  They are designed to supplement the policies, procedures and support staff which the college already has in place as well as your personal international insurance.

While the services listed below are comprehensive, International SOS is not international health insurance.  Babson College has contracted with International SOS to offer students, faculty and staff the highest possible level of travel, medical and security advice and services, as well as on-line access to information which many insurance companies do not offer.

Using the International SOS Program
International SOS is like a concierge service that will help you get all the information and care you need to plan, as well as to stay safe and healthy while abroad. To access these services, log in on the SOS Global Scholastic Portal or call the International SOS Service Center in Philadelphia at +1-215-942-8478(prior to international departure).  If you have questions or if you have difficulties with the International SOS website, contact the Glavin Office of International Programs for assistance (781-239-4565).

International SOS Registration

Babson College requires that you register with International SOS and establish a traveler's profile (via 'emergency record'). This service is provided by Babson at no additional charge. The information is kept confidential. Travelers can, however, set up proxy access for others to access their information in the event of an emergency.

In addition to setting up your emergency record the International SOS Babson Portal provides country specific information including disease & prevention, travel and security advice as well as medical and security alerts.  You are also able to print the International SOS card, download the membership app and sign up for email alerts.

To register simply follow the steps below:

1. Click International SOS Babson Portal

2. Click Emergency Record on right hand side of page.

3.  Click on "Sign Up" button in the First Time Users box and set up your personal account, creating your own username and password (Please note: If you have already registered a travel record (i.e. for a previous Babson program abroad), you will want to access your record using your username and password and update your record to reflect your current travel dates, medical, and health status.)

4. Establish a travelers record with your personal information and travel itinerary (you can also download copies of passport, visa, and other travel documents on this site).
