Preparing for Babson
Preparing for Babson
We suggest that incoming exchange students familiarize themselves with Babson's community standards and culture by reviewing the Babson Student Handbook, available in the Hub (login required).
At the beginning of each semester, Babson organizes a New Student Orientation in order to facilitate transition to life in the U.S. and Babson College. All exchange students are required to participate in this program.
During orientation, students receive important information regarding the academic and community standards to which they will be held accountable during their time at Babson College, as well as an overview of campus resources available. Additionally, information about the many opportunities to get involved on campus and make the most of their exchange experience will be provided.
All exchange students are required to attend a mandatory immigration session during orientation organized specifically for international and exchange students.
All graduate exchange students will participate in a half-day Orientation which includes an introduction to campus resources and the classroom experience.
Education Abroad Peer Advisors (EAPA's) (Undergraduate Exchange Only)
The Glavin Office has developed a peer advisor program for undergraduate students. Students who volunteer to serve as EAPA's have recently returned from studying abroad. This program is designed to assist exchange students in adjusting academically, culturally, and socially to the United States and to Babson College. EAPA's are available to answer many of the questions new students may have upon arrival and during their semester in the United States, as well as assist with difficulties new students encounter with communication, social relationships, academic classes and expectations, and general cultural changes. You will be contacted by an EAPA prior to your arrival at Babson College.

Laptop Requirements for Undergraduate Exchange Students*
All undergraduate exchange students will be required to pay a $700 USD refundable deposit for use of a laptop computer with Babson ready software for the duration of your stay. This money will be refunded to you in full at the conclusion of your exchange once the laptop is returned to the College.
*Please note that laptops are not provided by the College for graduate (MBA) students. Graduate exchange students will be responsible for bringing their own computer or using the public computers on campus.
