  • Study for a semester or academic year at Lund University, among the top 10 universities in Europe for student exchange and number 1 in Sweden.
  • Lund University was founded in 1666 and is one of the oldest universities in Scandinavia
  • Voted the best place to live in Sweden, Lund is a safe city with the healthiest, richest and youngest population in the country.
  • A mentor program is available to help new students with practical matters and introduce students to various student activities and everyday Swedish living.

  • A two week orientation takes place at the start of each semester and participation is mandatory

Additional Eligibility Requirements

  • Nominated exchange students are no required to submit English language test scores, however the recommended level of English proficiency is equivalent to IELTS 6.5/TOEFL 90.

LundBuildingStudying at Lund University, School of Economics and Management (LUSEM)

  • The School of Economics and Management is one of eight faculties within Lund University
  • Exchange students are expected to take the majority of their courses at LUSEM, although some courses can be taken at other faculties within Lund University.
  • While English is commonly spoken, a short introduction to the Swedish language is offered and recommended for exchange students.
  • Attendance at lectures is required but students are also expected to work independently and develop an in-depth knowledge of their subject through independent study.
  • The teaching methods used focus on the critical analysis of the course content with the use of real case studies wherever possible. There is often an emphasis on group work. 
  • A full semester of workload is 30 ECTS credits (15 US credits). Exchange students are not allowed to overload. A single course module typically equals 7.5 ECTS credits.

Life at Lund University, School of Economics and Management (LUSEM)

  • Lund, voted the most popular student city in Sweden, is well known for its unique student life and vibrant atmosphere.
  • The rich student life includes associations for every kind of interest, as well as student balls and rag weeks.
  • Campus locations include Lund, Helsingborg, Malmö and Ljungbyhed. 
  • The main Lund University campus is located in the city of Lund, which is 15 minutes by train from Malmö (the third largest city in Sweden) and less than an hour from Copenhagen (Scandinavia’s largest city and the capital of Denmark).
  • LU Accommodation offers housing for international students. LU Accommodation manages a limited number of rooms and flats in Lund, Helsingborg and Malmö. There is a great demand for housing and unfortunately they are not able to guarantee housing for all international students. Students must apply by the application deadline to be considered for accommodations.
